The Trustees of Wilbarston Village Hall Charity wish to inform all parishioners of the following:
- The Trustees are proposing to incorporate the village hall charity as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).
- Incorporation will ensure the village hall has a secure legal structure, limited liability for trustees, and improved ability to secure grants; thus improving and protecting the hall for future generations.
- To proceed with this process, the Trustees seek the approval of parishioners and formal authority to act on behalf of the Charity in managing all aspects of incorporation, including liaising with the Charity Commission, transferring assets and updating governance documents.
You are therefore invited to a public meeting on Thursday 2nd October 2025, at Wilbarston Village Hall commencing at 7pm. The details of the proposals will be explained in detail and a resolution put forward to approve:
- The incorporation of the Village Hall Charity as a CIO
- The delegation of authority to the current Trustees to manage and complete the incorporation process on behalf of the Charity and the local community
