We are a friendly self help group and have regular workshops run by local artists to help us develop more skills and techniques.
New members are very welcome and are invited to contact us by email or call in on a Thursday morning when we would be happy to tell you more about our group, alternatively, please see our website:wilbarstonartgroup.localart.uk
Albany Singers
When: Mondays 7.30 – 9pm
Do you love to sing?
Albany Singers is a friendly community choir in the Welland Valley, drawing members from the villages of Wilbarston, Stoke Albany and surrounding area.
Singing for fun, from traditional classics, musicals old and new, to the latest pop tunes, we rehearse on Monday evenings, from 7.30pm to 9pm, in Wilbarston Village Hall. We also enjoy performing a few times a year in support of local charities and events.
We welcome everyone, whatever your ability and experience. There are no auditions, you just need to love to sing!
Badminton
Badminton has been played at the Hall for many years. The court and net are available for hire; you just have to bring your own rackets and shuttles.
Cost of hire (per hour) = £20 (ad hoc) or £12 (regular bookings).
Bowls Club
When: Tuesdays 10am till 12pm
We are a small group meeting at Wilbarston Village Hall on a Tuesday morning to play short mat bowls. If you fancy trying your hand at playing bowls, please come along and have a go. Everything is provided at the hall, and new players are more than welcome. The morning is a social occasion with coffee and biscuits halfway through the session.
Each session costs £3.00. Just turn up or contact Anne Middleton 07960 242478 or Peter Whitehead 07413 449786 for more information.
Dog Training
When: Friday 6pm – 8pm + Saturday 8am – 10am
Strutt your Mutt Dog Training offers fun training classes covering a variety of topics using positive reinforcement. The training covers different aspects of obedience as well as the fun stuff! Classes are a great way to socialise and build a bond with your 4-legged friend. They train life skills that will be used on a daily basis. There is also the chance to ask questions. Classes run weekly and cost £48 for a block of 4 weeks. You can choose as many blocks as you like, as every dog learns at a different pace.
Friday: Puppies 6.15pm – 7pm | Adults 7pm – 7.45pm
Saturday: Puppies 8am – 8.45am | Adults 8.45am – 9.30am
Please bring some high value treats with you (e.g. hotdogs or chicken) and any toys that your dog likes too. Training needs to be fun, so having high value rewards are great.
A standard lead rather than a flexi lead is best just so dogs are kept under control.
Film Club
When: Usually Wednesday at 7pm.
Run by volunteers, the Film Club aims to show a wide range of films but concentrates on newer releases to bring the best of Hollywood to a social, community cinema setting. A large 4m projector screen, professional sound system, and bar service make for a great experience at exceptional value. We offer a loyalty card scheme at no additional cost, and welcome viewers from Wilbarston and surrounding villages and towns.

Friends
When: 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm
We are a group of ladies. We listen to visiting speakers, who talk on a wide variety of subjects, have coffee and chat. The evenings are pleasant and relaxing.
In May we have a meal out together, which is always an enjoyable and social event. In June we go out for the day to a local attraction, where we have a look round, browse around the shops and have lunch together.
Notices go up in the corner shop announcing the event / speaker for the month and programmes for the forthcoming year are produced every January.
Please come along to one of the evening sessions or ask for a copy of the programme, obtained from Bobbee Mellor (07429 234399 / 19, Rushton Road, Wilbarston).
