Mr. Burton charts the relationship between a Port Talbot school teacher, Philip (played by Toby Jones) and a wild young school boy called Richie Jenkins (Harry Lawtey). Richie, keen to get away from his boozy father, dreamed of becoming an actor. Philip recognised his raw talent and took him under his wing. This is the story of how Richie Jenkins became Richard Burton – the greatest star Wales has ever produced.
