We’re very, very pleased to be able to bring you something special for Christmas this year. 𝑺𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒅 is a brilliantly funny, heartwarming, and incredibly joyful musical retelling of Dickens’ classic ‘A Christmas Carol’. It stars Will Ferrell, Ryan Reynolds, and Octavia Spencer and is set largely in the present day but with a story thread running through the ages. Outside of its short run when released, 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 hasn’t been shown at cinemas. We’ve worked hard behind the scenes and have been granted special permission from Apple TV to show it at Film Club. It will likely be one of the only UK public screenings of this film this year (if not the only one), so really will be an evening not to be missed. And if you were at our screening last year (𝘌𝘭𝘧) you’ll know what Will Ferrell brings to a Christmas film – to date, our only screening to receive a round of applause!
Not only that, to continue our birthday celebrations from earlier in the year this very special one-off screening will be 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 to attend. It’s our gift to you, and we hope many of you will come along to celebrate Film Club and Christmas together. You’ll still need a ticket as we have a maximum hall capacity, but if there is still space on the night you can come in on the door too. Please do only get a ticket if you’re likely to come to ensure there are enough to go around. The only humbug aspect is that we won’t be stamping loyalty cards that evening! But to make up for that, there will also be a free mince pie with every drink bought!
We are showing this film earlier in the month to avoid Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. So mark your calendar for 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟳 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿. The film is rated 12A.
